I PASSED

It has been a very stresssful week for me.
I am so glad to not be working !
Today I had my compentancy tests for NUR 106 which is a PASS /NO PASS lab. I was suppose to memorize step by step different processes in 15 different tasks. I was tested on 2 tasks for sure.

1: Proper hand Hygene - Sounds easy but there is actually a process
2: Vital Signs - Temp, Pulse, Respiratory Rate, Oximeter, and blood pressure.
I had to answer critical questions throughout the process and get my blood pressure with 4 mmHG
I got the blood pressure on the MONEY and was able to answer the questions successfully.

My third one was medication:
I got stuck with a rectal suppository, Dulcolax 10 mg prn. I had to make sure I did everything right like assess the patient before and all the crap that goes with the patients 7 rights to medication. I got to use the drug book 15 minutes before testing, then was asked a series of critical questions regarding that. PASSED

My last one was an easy one : Input/Out ; just a lot of conversions and stuff. PASSED

Then had to take a dosage calculation test of 20 questions and had to receive a 100% of you failed. PASSed with a 100%

Example:
Patients needs 500mg of drug XYZ, drug comes in 250mg/5 ml. How many teaspoons do you give the client ?

convert: gr 1/200 to g (gr=grains)

I am so glad its over. I will have one more test like the above in the summer session.
I think they had more than 20% fail, which would explain why I saw alot of tears and upset instructors. Who knows I am so glad I worked my ass off.
I studied with all my good cohort friends : Leslie, Net, Erin, Jennifer, Amy, Rose, Sara, Wade, Wendy. I think they passed but I haven't heard from anyone which is scaring now that I think about it.
I am going to sleep like a baby.......
